The Undertaker has reacted to an injury update for a AAA star, who suffered a rather scary neck injury at Noche de Los Grandes. The star was part of a DDT spot where the referee threw up the X sign and he had to be taken away on a stretcher for medical evaluation.
Octagon Jr competed against Lince Dorado, Joaquin Wilde, Mini Vikingo and Cruz del Toro to determine the number one contender for the AAA Cruiserweight World Championship. Dorado ended up winning the match, but Octagon’s injury left fans worried in the aftermath. Now, The Undertaker has taken to his X/Twitter account to react to the scary incident.
Thanks for the submission!
“I would like to take this time to wish a speedy recovery to Octagón Jr. and thank him for his hard work and dedication to @luchalibreaaa. We know you’ll be back better than ever and we look forward to having you return to the locker room,” he wrote.
After winning the match, Lince Dorado is set to challenge Rey Fenix, the new AAA Cruiserweight World Champion, in the near future. It now remains to be seen whether the SmackDown star will be able to defend his newly-won title at the first time of asking.
According to the Wrestling ObserverOctagon will be gone for several months, but his MRI scans came back clear. Bryan Alvarez reported that the luchador was doing well, and that his situation was not as bad as it could have been despite himnnot being allowed to continue in the ring.
“He will likely be out several months but could have been much worse,” Alvarez said.
It now remains to be seen how long Octagon will be spending on the sidelines, considering the spot looked quite awkward. AAA is set to host Triplemania as a two-night event on September 11 and 13 in Las Vegas and Mexico City as its next major event. It might be a race against time for the AAA star to return in time for the two-night event after his injury at Noche de Los Grandes.
