Report, result and goals as Diallo winner stuns Mbappe and Co before World Cup

World Cup hopefuls France were stunned in their first pre-tournament warm-up game after Ivory Coast scored twice in the second half to come from behind to win 2-1 in Paris.

Rayan Cherki opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time when the Manchester City midfielder picked up a loose ball on the egde of the box before gliding past a defender and slotting the ball into the corner.

The Ivory Coast drew level shortly after the break after a defence-splitting pass Nicolas Pepe played in Guela Doue before slotting the ball past Mike Maignan.

Manchester United forward Amad Diallo then completed the turnaround in the 84th minute when he met a Doue cross to stroke the ball into the back of the net as France’s pre-World Cup preparations got off to a less-than ideal start, much like Spain who drew 1-1 with Iraq.
