Josh Allen shares respect for Hayley Scammurra after Olympics achievement

Bills quarterback Josh Allen acknowledged the “weight” of U.S. women’s hockey team’s achievement after wearing Hayley Scamurra’s gold medal.

“Trying on a gold medal felt like stolen valor. But you can feel the weight of that, not just literally. There’s a figurative weight that goes long with that,” Allen said. “I’ve got so much respect for her and what they did in representing our country.”

Scamurra, who grew up a Bills fan, reflected on meeting the Pro Bowl quarterback and sharing the medal with him on Tuesday.

“It helped ground me a little bit to be like, `OK, I have something to share with you,’” Scamurra said. “To be able to share that with him was just really surreal and super cool.”
