Jade Cargill’s rival secures surprise spot in Queen of the Ring tournament on WWE SmackDown

A major WWE name seized the win in the final first-round match to advance to the Queen of the Ring Semifinals. Her current rival, Jade Cargill, won’t be happy with this.

Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair have been embroiled in a heated rivalry on the Friday Night Show for weeks. The rivalry escalated at Clash in Italy when Flair interfered in Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship match against Rhea Ripley, costing The Storm the win.

Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown featured a Fatal Four-Way match between Charlotte Flair, Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria, and Jade Cargill. All four women went at each other from the bell.

The Queen tossed The Storm with an early fallaway slam. Before she could build momentum, Michin and B-Fab made their presence felt, attempting to give Cargill a numbers advantage. However, Alexa Bliss’ music then hit, and she made the save, followed shortly by Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton, and the two cleared the heels from ringside.

Stratton launched Michin over the barricade and brawled her into the crowd, while Bliss took B-Fab up the ramp and to the back. Back from commercial, Cargill dominated the bout. Flair and Sol Ruca hit a double superplex to bring her crashing down.

Sol Ruca delivered the Sol Snatcher to remove Cargill from the equation, but Lyra Valkyria broke up the pin. The Queen then delivered a big boot to the Women’s Intercontinental Champion and applied the Figure-8 leg lock to Valkyria to secure the win and advance to the Queen of the Ring semifinals.

The Queen will now face Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in the tournament semifinals. The winner of the tournament will earn a world championship match at SummerSlam.

With the stakes too high, it will be interesting to see who wins at Night of Champions on June 27 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
