Destiny 2’s Still Hunt recently received a shiny new Catalyst as a part of the Monument of Triumph update. Alongside the other great features added, a huge series of Exotic Weapons received Catalysts, to further enhance what they were already good at, or to cover up for a weakness that the weapon held. Out of all of the Exotics I’ve looked at in this update, Still Hunt is certainly one of my favorites, thanks to this new perk.
If you’ve been considering unlocking Still Hunt, or already own it and want to bring it out of retirement, I think there’s never been a better time in Destiny 2, than right now. Here’s everything we know about the new Catalyst, and what it does.
Once you’ve completed the Wild Card quest in Destiny 2, and unlocked Still Huntyou can then begin the process of unlocking its Catalyst. Unfortunately, there’s no single place where the actual Catalyst drops. According to the in-game listing, it’s found in Vanguard Ops, Gambitand Crucible game modes.

What this means for you, is just pick a Strike in Vanguard, your PVP mode of choice for Crucible, and a Gambit match. You just have to grind this one out until it drops, and it won’t drop at all unless you own Still Hunt, so that’s the first, most important step.
Once you’ve done that, you can begin unlocking the Catalyst power. Like some of the other new Catalysts for guns such as Last Word and Wish-Ender, you need to kill 500 targets while equipped with Still Hunt. After you have killed enough foes, go to your Weapon Mod screen, and apply the Catalyst.
Still Hunt’s Catalyst is pretty incredible, and if you pair it with the Celestial Nighthawk Exotic Helmetyou can become a one-person army, soloing raid bosses with the greatest of ease. Here’s what the new Catalyst, Lucky Shotdoes:
We suggest pairing this gun with Celestial Nighthawk because it makes Precision final blows reduce the cooldown of your Super, and modifies Golden Gun to fire a single, high-damage shot. Since Still Hunt comes with a built-in Golden Gun feature, this should make for a truly amazing combo.
Lucky Shot allows you to reduce your downtime significantly. Reloading after a Precision final blow makes your precision hits refill a round from your reserves, lessening the frequency of reloads. On a sniper rifle, this is incredible.
