After a solid 2025 NFL season, Caleb Williams appears to have secured a major honor off the field. The Chicago Bears star led the NFC North team to a division title and its first playoff appearance since 2020.
He went 330 of 568 for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns with seven interceptions. Such an impressive season seemingly granted him the honor of featuring on the Madden 27 cover. An image of Williams doing his “Iceman” pose made the rounds on social media on Saturday. Jon Root of Outkick commented on it, criticizing the Williams selection, calling it “too feminine.”

Williams has become a polarizing figure for expressing himself, and that includes painting his nails. He has done the same since his college days, and while some don’t appreciate it, the former No. 1 pick hasn’t stopped doing it.
Meanwhile, he and the Bears continue preparing for what could be a special season.

Caleb Williams compared to NBA legend
During a Tuesday appearance on “Up & Adams,” Quentin Richardson compared Williams to NBA legend Dwyane Wade.
“I’ma go D-Wade,” Richardson said. “With the swag, with the, you know, them boys fashionable, but this is why I’m gonna compare him: Because when it gets to that clutch time, D-Wade was a bad boy. He ain’t flinch, and I’m talking about that was from inception, from first day, first year in the league.
“That’s similar to Caleb Williams in his second year with all of the down-the-stretch clutch moments and plays that he did, and he ain’t blinking. That’s why they call him the Iceman, and we thankful to have him. That’s our best quarterback ever already.”
The Bears have a lot of expectations for Williams. He showed glimpses of his evolution last year. He should elevate his game after another offseason under Ben Johnson and perhaps challenge for a Super Bowl berth in an NFC that will have plenty of candidates ready to dethrone the Seattle Seahawks.
