WWE legend Booker T recently spoke about a particular match in his career that many believe to have harmed his run in the company.
The match being talked about is Booker T’s fight with Triple H at WrestleMania 19. The loss to The Game was criticized by fans, with many thinking it derailed Booker’s run at the peak of his popularity. However, Booker T himself does not agree.

Speaking on Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE veteran stated:
“I know people are gonna talk about WrestleMania 19, lets go ahead and get the elephant out of the room. A lot of people think that one loss was harmful to me, and I say no, it wasn’t harmful, it didn’t hurt my career at all. I’m still here, after 20 plus years being part of the company in some way, shape or form.
He further added:
“I was listening to one of the Dark Side of the Ring episodes, and Superstar Billy Graham lost the title to Bob Backlund, and his daughter said it ruined his life, it ruined him as a man, and me personally I refuse to let this game, sports entertainment, professional wrestling, make me feel a certain way about myself, because I’m going out there and doing a performance, and I’m hoping to give the best performance I possibly can at the end of the day.

WWE star Booker T was not upset with the loss
According to Booker T, the thought of losing in the conventional sense never crossed his mind.
Adding to his previous comments, the WWE veteran noted that his loss was handled well and the audience reacted as planned. He said:
“I never thought about losing, always said it’s the way you lose. I know people are gonna harp on that, I said that before too and people say ‘you laid down for 20 seconds before you got pinned’. I’m like, I don’t remember that, but I know how people feel when you really captivate them and make them feel a certain way, that’s what this game is about, but for me, I’ve never lost a match and felt a certain way about it.
Booker T is no longer regularly active in the ring, but still wrestles sporadically. He was last seen in the WWE ring in 2023, as a participant in the Royal Rumble.
