The Under-19 team of India is all set to face Sri Lanka in a multi-format series. During the away series, the boys in blue will have to play three One-Day and two Multi-Day matches against the host, Sri Lanka.
Ahead of the Sri Lanka tour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squads for both of the formats. Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan has been appointed as the captain for both of the formats, while Lakshya Raichandani will play as his deputy in both of the formats.

The multi-format series will start with the One Day matches, starting on July 4, and will come to a conclusion on July 23 through the second multi-day match. All of the limited-overs matches will be held in Hambantota, and the two mult-day games will be on Galle and Colombo, respectively.
Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan is an emerging batter from Chambal, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, who first took the headlines in 20222, through his skillful batting. While playing for Chambal Division in the under-13 Inter Divisional tournament for AW Kanmadikar Trophy Chauhan played multiple knocks including a 425 off 248 balls, and a 235 off 166 balls.
Chandrakant Pandit, then the coach of Madhya Pradesh, decided to visit the ground to take a look at the wonder kid. In front of Pandit, the emerging Indian batter was dismissed for 391 runs. Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan was then only 13, but the way he played those knocks talked a lot about the immense talent he possesses.

“If someone is making double hundred, triple hundred, and four hundred at the age of 13, it should inspire budding cricketers from around the country. His consistency in notching up big scores is amazing. It shows his ability to play a long innings, a good appetite, even at that young an age. It reminds me of a young Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, and how their partnership inspired so many cricketers,” Chandrakant Pandit told the Times of India.
