A 3-time AEW champion wrestled his first match outside of All Elite Wrestling this week. While he gave his all in the battle, the star failed to pick up a win for himself.
The star is none other than former 3-time TNT Champion, Sammy Guevara. The 32-year-old star recently made his first appearance for the CMLL promotion. He has been making sporadic appearances in the squared circle for the past few months, and this week, he competed in a star-studded tag team match at the iconic Arena Mexico.
Guevara and his tag team partner, Beast Mortos, teamed up with Black Tiger to take on Barbaro Cavernario & Villanos. While the match was pretty entertaining, Sammy and his team failed to pick up the win. With that, it was a decent debut for the former TNT Champion in the CMLL wrestling promotion. The show aired on CMLL’s YouTube Channel under the membership tier.
The 32-year-old star’s last match in AEW was on the 16th May, 2026 episode of Collision. He unsuccessfully challenged Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship in a No Count Outs match. Fans are looking forward to seeing the next appearance of Showtime Sammy in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Sammy Guevara went all out in his match with Darby Allin on Collision a few weeks ago. That showdown received widespread praise from the pro-wrestling fans all across the world. Recently, the former TNT Champion reflected on his title clash with The Daredevil.
In his latest vlog, Guevara gave an update to his fans that he is back at the gym following his intense showdown with Darby Allin. He revealed that the table crashes during the match left an impact on his body. Therefore, he is feeling a little sore throughout the week.
“We are back in the gym. We took a couple days off because my body was feeling a little beat up for some reason. Yeah, both those table crashes sucked and I was feeling those for a couple days. But we’re feeling better now, so we’re in the gym finishing up a leg workout,” said Sammy. [H/T: Fightful]

With AEW All In being on the horizon, Sammy Guevara is likely to make his full-time comeback to All Elite Wrestling soon. Apart from that, he also holds the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Beast Mortos. Therefore, he would be defending those titles down the line in the Ring of Honor.
