3 players who can replace Suryakumar Yadav as India’s next T20I captain

The T20I leadership of India could be set for a major change ahead of the upcoming white-ball assignments. According to multiple reports, the national selectors are considering moving on from Suryakumar Yadav as captain following a prolonged dip in form after India’s victorious T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. While no official announcement has been made yet, discussions surrounding the captaincy have intensified, with several players emerging as frontrunners for the role.

If India decide to appoint a new leader, the management will likely prioritize a player who can offer consistency, command respect within the dressing room, and contribute significantly with the bat.
