When we said The Odyssey has the geekiest popcorn bucket ever, apparently we should’ve included a caveat. The previously announced IMAX film camera popcorn bucket might be the geekiest snack merch ever for film nerds, but The Odyssey‘s second popcorn bucket has it beat in terms of geekiness for literature nerds.
The Odyssey‘s new popcorn bucket is a Trojan horse. No, not metaphorically—unless you’re planning to sneak something other than popcorn into the theater using the container, in which case, good on you for both sticking it to the man and being fully committed to the bit. The bucket is literally shaped like a horse, with a secret hatch in its stomach that you can open, which sends the popcorn tumbling out, just like Odysseus and company did during the Trojan War (make sure you’ve got a secondary bucket or box for your treats to spill into though—don’t go making a giant mess for the overworked cinema employees to clean up just because you think it’s funny).

Unlike the IMAX camera, the Trojan horse isn’t (yet) available to purchase online. FantasyLand News reports that it will be available for purchase at Regal, AMC, and Cinemark theaters. You can also keep an eye on AMC’s online shop in case the company eventually lists it there, as it often does with collectors’ buckets.
The Odyssey follows Odysseus (Matt Damon) on his grueling 10-year journey home after the decade-long Trojan War, which Odysseus finally brought to an end with his brilliant Trojan horse gambit, tricking the Trojans into bringing the giant sculpture inside the city’s fortified walls so the Greeks could wreak havoc from the inside.
The film also stars Tom Holland as Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Odysseus’ wife, and Lupita Nyong’o as both Helen of Troy and Helen’s sister Clytemnestra. The massive ensemble cast includes Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, John Leguizamo, and Benny Safdie, among many others.
The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17.
