Bokang Masunyane and Lee Seung Cheol lock horns in strawweight MMA tiff at ONE Fight Night 45

South African standout Bokang Masunyane and South Korea’s Lee Seung Cheol are set to light up the Lumpinee Stadium in American primetime on Friday, July 17.

The duo cross paths in a high-stakes strawweight MMA battle, which will be part of ONE Fight Night 45: Lessei vs. Rabah on Prime Video. ONE Championship confirmed the bout on its official website this past Monday.

Bokang Masunyane, who trains out of CIT MMA, aims to register back-to-back wins on the global stage for the first time since he racked up two successive triumphs against Japanese dynamos Hiroba Minowa and Keito Yamakita.

“Little Giant” suffered two losses in a row to Mansur Malachiev and Sanzhar Zakirov before bouncing back in style with an impressive three-round display against Ryohei Kurosawa of Japan at ONE Fight Night 39 in January this year.

He opened his promotional account with a unanimous decision win over Ryuto Sawada and followed that up with a 37-second knockout of Rene Catalan. But former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks handed him the first loss of his career at ONE 156 in April 2022.

Bokang Masunyane’s topsy-turvy run, however, doesn’t cancel the fact that he’s been one of the most consistent fighters on the promotional roster.

The Johannesburg resident is dangerous in every department of the discipline, but his skills will be put to the ultimate test against the South Korean star when they collide at ONE Fight Night 45.

Lee Seung Cheol out to continue magical run against Bokang Masunyane on July 17

Lee Seung Cheol has impressed throughout his journey inside the ONE Circle. He doesn’t plan to let that run come to an end against Bokang Masunyane.

“The Flash” has entertained fight fans with his aggression, finishing power, and elite fight IQ since joining the promotional roster, going 5-0 against highly technical warriors.

The 27-year-old debuted with a first-round TKO of Moises Lois Ilogon, and in his sophomore appearance, he took out Pham Van Nam in round two.

He stepped back on the global stage with a unanimous decision win against Hiroba Minowa and wrapped up his 2025 campaign with a fierce first-round submission of Cueng Naibaho at ONE Friday Fights 136 in December.

This past March, the DK Gym standout made it five promotional victories on the trot against Fabio Henrique, thus moving his career to 12-1.

Fans can expect a world-class and tactical battle when these two face off at ONE Fight Night 45.
