“Anna Kalinskaya is dirty” – New handshake controversy rocks French Open as fans accuse Russian of faking MTO in 3R win

Tennis fans recently took a jab at Anna Kalinskaya while accusing her of taking a fake medical timeout during the third round of the 2026 French Open against Colombia’s Camila Osorio. After trailing 6-3, 0-6, Kalinskaya opted for a medical timeout in the third set, citing heat illness.

Her timeout did not land well with her opponent, Osorio, who refrained from performing the post-match handshake properly. A few tennis fans accused her of faking the medical timeout to break Osorio’s rhythm. One of the fans called her “tactics” unethical and wrote:

“Unethical medical timeout with extra time. I don’t blame Osorio, Kalinskaya is dirty.”

Another fan simply rallied behind the Osorio and chimed in:

“Idk what happened here but I stand with Cami, shes way too nice for this to not be a result of anything that happened prior.”

A fan accused Kalinskaya of cheating and wrote:

“She cheated by taking a over extended timeout.”

Anna Kalinskaya revealed the reason why she took a medical timeout during her match against Camila Osorio, stating she began feeling extremely hot and low on energy, and the conditions kept getting worse. She further added that she only recovered following the break, receiving treatment, and cooling down.

“I started to feel very hot and started to feel my energy was going down in the end of the first set,” Kalinskaya said. “I didn’t finish the first set on my serve. I had a couple of set points. Luckily, I could break her to finish it.”

“I took a break going to the bathroom, but it didn’t help too much. I started to feel worse and worse. At 4-0, unfortunately, I had to see the doctor and call the physio. It took me some time to recover, but in the third set I started to feel better and more cool.
