WWE-AEW clash confirmed; massive Jon Moxley revelation, female star fires back at fan

Welcome along to the latest rendition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s AEW News & Rumor Roundup. Today, we are looking at news involving popular All Elite Wrestling stars such as Jon Moxley.

A programming clash between WWE and All Elite Wrestling is imminent. Meanwhile, AEW president Tony Khan has revealed a major detail about Jon Moxley, and an ex-All Elite star has hit back at a disrespectful fan. All this and more are unraveling the stories coming out of All Elite Wrestling today. With that said, let’s get this roundup started.

#4. WWE set to counter program AEW during Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view

The competition between All Elite Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment is as fierce as ever and is set to reach another peak in the coming weeks. AEW has been riding a massive wave of momentum following the critical and commercial success of its recent Double or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view. The promotion is finalizing preparations for its next major event, Forbidden Door 2026. This collaborative super-show, featuring top wrestling talent from AEW, Ring of Honor, CMLL, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Stardom, is officially scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

However, WWE has officially decided to counter-program the highly anticipated event with a major broadcast of its own. World Wrestling Entertainment recently announced that the NXT Great American Bash premium live event will air on the CW Network on Sunday, June 28, at 7 PM. This scheduling perfectly aligns with the expected start time of the Forbidden Door zero-hour pre-show, creating a direct viewership clash between the two wrestling juggernauts.

For those unaware, the Stamford-based company’s counter-programming against AEW is not a new phenomenon, as they have used similar scheduling tactics several times in the past without significantly affecting Tony Khan’s promotion.

#3. Tony Khan praises Jon Moxley for his backstage contributions in AEW

Jon Moxley has established himself as one of the most reliable workhorses in the professional wrestling industry today. The One True King has been a major pillar of All Elite Wrestling since its inception, consistently appearing on weekly programming and major pay-per-view events with minimal time off. Even when he is not scheduled to compete in the ring, the Death Riders’ leader is frequently present for television segments or physically accompanies his fellow stablemates to the squared circle.

During a recent interview with Wide World of SportsAEW President Tony Khan made a surprising revelation about the Purveyor of Violence’s massive backstage contributions. Khan explained that because professional wrestling has no off-season, the grueling travel schedule can be incredibly demanding. He added that while he is generally the only one who attends every show, Moxley has recently begun attending as well.

“I have a great group of people in each of the sports – I have great executives, coaches and people to talk to and lean on. The thing with wrestling that’s very different is there’s no off-season. We have a great group, but I’m generally the only person who comes to every show. In recent years, Jon Moxley is doing a great job backstage and has been at everything … but I have been at every AEW show since the beginning. It’s a lot of travel, but I love it,” said Khan. #2. Ex AEW star Abadon hits back at disrespectful fan comment

Fans offering constructive feedback to wrestling stars is commonplace in the professional wrestling industry. However, some of them occasionally cross the line and send completely disrespectful messages directly to the stars. This exact scenario recently occurred involving former AEW star Abadon, who was forced to deal with an unnecessarily hostile fan on social media.

The situation began when veteran independent wrestler Ver Vixen posted on X to wish her followers a happy Pride Month. Abadon, who is openly pansexual, replied to the post with a highly supportive message. However, the interaction quickly soured when an online fan abruptly told Abadon to “learn how to f**king wrestle.” Instead of losing their temper, Abadon handled the situation with complete calm and used self-deprecating humor to shut down the troll. Abadon sarcastically replied:

“Please come train me. I clearly need it. I’m so terrible, rotten in fact. Some may even say the drizzling sh*ts.”

Please come train me. I clearly need it. I’m so terrible, rotten in fact. Some may even say the drizzling sh*ts

This statement from Abadon made it perfectly clear that the fan’s hostile opinion did not bother them.

#1. Megan Bayne and the Infantry pulled from Battle of the Brave event

Several prominent All Elite Wrestling stars were recently forced to withdraw from an upcoming independent wrestling event due to unforeseen circumstances. Megan Bayne, who is one-half of the reigning AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, regularly books appearances on the independent circuit, in addition to her recent appearances for Stardom and CMLL. Bayne was originally scheduled to appear at the Battle for the Brave event in Rahway, New Jersey, this weekend, alongside the AEW tag team The Infantry, consisting of Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo.

However, the hosts of the charity event, Deonna Purrazzo and Steve Maclin, recently took to social media to announce that Bayne and The Infantry would no longer be able to attend. Fortunately, Purrazzo revealed that AEW President Tony Khan stepped in to provide major replacements for the show. It was officially announced that former TBS Champion Kris Statlander will replace Megan Bayne by entering the 12-Person Battle For The Brave Cup Gauntlet Match. Furthermore, Tony Khan will send a mystery tag team to replace The Infantry in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match, with their true identities kept a secret until the live YouTube broadcast.
