WWE President Nick Khan shared details about a meeting he had with Shawn Michaels regarding the future of the company. Michaels currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative for the promotion.
In an interview with Sports Business JournalNick Khan noted that the company will never respond to online criticism. Khan shared that he had a meeting with Shawn Michaels about what the company needed for the future, and he suggested that younger talent be put on the road so they can get experience in front of a live audience.
Thanks for the submission!
“We got a number of men who are 40 years or older and they’re performing at the high level. We got to accelerate the next generation of talent. So what do we need to do to accelerate it? Shawn Michaels said we need to take them on the road so they get the crowd response of a live crowd. That’s part of what makes wrestling unique. If you’re getting cheered, great. If you’re getting booed, great. If there’s no response, terrible. So you need that live crowd to figure that out, so we made the investment in that,” he said. (H/T: Wrestle Purists on X)

The Heartbreak Kid is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer. He was inducted as a singles star in 2011 and as a member of D-Generation X in 2019.
Nick Khan shared his thoughts on Night of Champions 2026 later this month in Saudi Arabia, and whether the company might have to cancel the event.
Speaking at a TKO town hall meeting, Khan discussed the upcoming PLE in Riyadh and noted that the WWE roster would only be traveling to Saudi Arabia if it was safe to do so.
“We’re only going if it’s safe or if we’re allowed there. We are monitoring with our heads of security internally and with our government affairs folks externally, the situation there. If U.S. citizens are allowed in at this moment in time, it is declared and deemed safe, we’ll all be going there. Saudi is deeply desirous of getting WWE back there and getting events restarted, especially those that come from the United States,” he said. (H/T: Post Wrestling)
