Bad News for Drew McIntyre fans ahead of WWE RAW

Drew McIntyre hasn’t been seen since WrestleMania, and it seems that any fans expecting him to be back at SummerSlam have been severely misled.

McIntyre has been filming Highlander over the past few weeks, and while filming has wrapped, there was a belief that McIntyre would be heading back to the ring, but that isn’t the case.

PWInsider is reporting that McIntyre has now been cast in The Last Druid with Russell Crowe, which means that he won’t be back in the ring anytime soon.

It’s unclear when Drew McIntyre will make his return now since he appears to be picking up Hollywood bookings and could be away for several months at a time. His loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania wrote him off TV and has meant that his name hasn’t come up for several weeks.

Heading into SummerSlam, there were reports that CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre would be back for the main shows, but it seems that won’t happen.

Drew McIntyre will miss the UK events

It’s interesting that McIntyre was advertised for WWE’s event in Liverpool back in May, but he didn’t attend the event, and now it seems that he will miss the back-to-back shows in London at the end of the month.

As a Scottish star, McIntyre enjoyed making his return to the UK and being part of WWE when they were part of UK tours. Famously, he was a huge part of Clash at the Castle in 2022 and 2024, but it seems that 2026 will not be his year.

The Scottish Warrior is a former World Champion in his own right, and it seems that at the age of 41, he could be winding down his time in the ring, and looking for a plan B. McIntyre has proven that has what it takes to make the move into movies like the likes of John Cena and The Rock, since he will be looking to wind down his career soon.

It will be interesting to see if he remains away from WWE until next year’s Royal Rumble, when he would be a surprise entry in the men’s match.
