Darryn Peterson is one of the top prospects in the NBA draft, expected to be a top-five pick. On Monday, ESPN projected the Utah Jazz to draft Peterson as the second pick in the draft.
However, the Jayhawks guard appears adamant about getting drafted by one team. On Monday, ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed that Peterson had only visited the Washington Wizards and plans not to meet other teams.
Thanks for the submission!
“Developments ahead of the June 23-24 NBA draft: BYU’s AJ Dybantsa has conducted formal visits with both the Washington Wizards (No. 1) and Utah Jazz (No. 2) while Kansas’ Darryn Peterson only visited the Wizards and does not plan to grant anyone else a meeting, sources tell me and @JeremyWoo,” he tweeted.

“Both have believed in going No. 1 and now teams in the lottery are taking note of Peterson’s decision to only give access to Washington.”
Fans were stunned by Darryn Peterson’s decision as they flocked to the post’s comments section.
“Peterson is a head case,” one fan said.
“I fw the confidence, but DP should definitely at least have a visit with the Jazz wtf,” another fan commented.
“Wow, not a good look… Peterson might drop and San Antonio would be forced to pick him up 😔,” another fan commented.
Here are more reactions:
“Peterson moving like the draft only has one pick. Dybantsa doing campus tours,” one fan commented.
“Bro, what’s w the ego w these new players? First Ace Bailey, now Peterson, they should be happy to even get drafted and less focused on where they go. Esp as a top pick,” another fan commented.
“Just make the draft prospects free agents at this point 🤦,” another fan said.
NBA insider Jeremy Woo believes that the Utah Jazz will draft Darryn Peterson regardless of the Jayhawks guard’s decision to only meet with the Wizards. Woo predicted Peterson to be the Jazz’s second pick in ESPN’s mock draft.
“Although Peterson does not plan to visit Utah before the draft, that is not considered by rival teams to be a major factor in whether the Jazz will select him,” he wrote. “There is precedent for that thinking, as general manager Austin Ainge selected Ace Bailey fifth overall last year, despite Bailey’s camp electing not to work out there.”
Darryn Peterson averaged 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game on 43.8% shooting.
