Kyle Larson opens up on daughter Audrey’s heartwarming bow celebration to honour Kyle Busch after a dirt race win: “It makes me proud”

Kyle Larson’s 8-year-old daughter, Audrey, honoured Kyle Busch with a bow after her dirt race win at KAM Raceway in Nebraska. Larson revelled in the win and shared his pride in Audrey’s gesture.

Audrey nabbed her maiden win when she was just seven years old last September, at Millbridge Speedway, in Salisbury, North Carolina. She overtook Larson with a Beginner Box Stock class win at the historic Red Bluff Outlaws in California. The two-time Cup champion had never won in that division as a child.

She later made headlines for a Heat win in the Junior Sprint category of the 2025 Tulsa Shootout. Audrey has now extended her win tally at Nebraska with a special tribute to Kyle Busch.

Larson addressed the gesture and said (via X/PRN),

“I was super happy that she thought of that, and then the next night she ended up winning and that was cool to pay tribute to Kyle. It makes me proud to see that the kids understand the situation and are doing their part to support the family and honor Kyle.”

Kyle Busch passed away from bacterial pneumonia that developed into sepsis. NASCAR held a special tribute event on last Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 in his memory. Every race winner from the weekend performed Busch’s bow.

It was Justin Allgaier’s turn to make the move in this weekend’s O’Reilly race at Nashville. He climbed out of his car and took a bow after winning an intense battle with rookie Brent Crews.

During NASCAR’s tribute to Kyle Busch, the entire Cup field gathered behind Busch’s grieving family at Charlotte. Busch’s wife, Samantha, broke down in tears and was comforted by her 11-year-old son, Brexton.

In a touching moment, Kyle Larson’s son, Owen Miata, went over to Brexton and consoled him. Larson had this to say about Owen’s gesture:

“You know, when Owen walked over there to put his arm around Brexton, that made me obviously very, very proud of him. And to see the emotion on Owen’s face when he came back over was also a proud moment because you don’t know how an 11-year-old is going to kind of grasp the situation and understand what has happened and the pain that they’re going through.”

“I was also very proud of Brexton and how he was staying strong right then, you could tell. It gave my heart a lot of comfort,” he added.

On the Cup front, Kyle Larson has yet to find a win this season. The reigning champion currently stands behind fifth-ranking Chase Elliott, who has already won two races in 13 starts.
