Rangers are on the hunt to sign another attacking reinforcement this summer as they look to topple Celtic and Hearts next season.
The Gers have wasted little time before getting their summer business underway, with Lawrence Shankland signed and sealed from Hearts, and right-back Bryan Reynolds potentially on his way.
In an ideal world, these signings would be for Danny Rohl ahead of his first full campaign in charge, but Red Bull Salzburg could be about to ruin those plans before pre-season has even arrived.

Rohl’s next Rommens: £4m star is pushing to sign for Rangers
Rangers are eyeing up a move to sign a star who could be Danny Rohl’s next version of Tuur Rommens at Ibrox.
The Austrian club are reportedly pushing to hire the Rangers boss and are in direct contact with Ibrox chiefs about the move. It would be a long-awaited reunion for Rohl, who learned much of his trade as a coach at RB Leipzig.
Although those at Ibrox have mixed feelings about the manager, even the most pessimistic fan will admit that it’ll be a blow to lose another head coach so early into the 49ers’ project.
It remains to be seen who club chiefs would turn to next whilst balancing potential incomings. If they look back at their old list of candidates, then the likes of Kevin Muscat could re-emerge.
Away from their managerial situation, meanwhile, the Gers are looking to poach their own target, who already knows exactly what to expect in the Scottish Premiership.

As reported by reporter Murat Ozen and relayed by Turkish outlet Kartalın Asaleti JK, Rangers are now plotting a move to re-sign Valcav Cerny from Besiktas this summer.
The Gers are discussing welcoming the winger back to Ibrox for the first time since his loan spell in the 2024/25 campaign.
The chance to make that return happen follows Besiktas’ fury. When reports surfaced that Cerny wanted to leave the club in January, the Turkish giants released a furious statement claiming that it was false and urged fans to ignore it.
“The report claiming that Cerny wanted to leave our team during the mid-season transfer period but our Board of Directors did not permit it, and that through his manager, Cerny conveyed to our Board of Directors that he was unhappy and wanted to leave our team at the end of the season, is completely a product of imagination.”
Months later however, the winger ended the season with one start in the final six games and reports have returned that he is again looking towards the exit door.
If that is the case, then Rangers should not hesitate to take full advantage this summer.
