WWE’s SummerSlam Premium Live Event is considered one of the biggest shows of the company after WrestleMania. This year, The Biggest Party of the Summer will be taking place live on August 1 & 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Amid this, three signs suggest 43-year-old star LA Knight will be the OTC’s opponent for SummerSlam. In this article, we will take a look at these signs.
#3. LA Knight has started targeting The Bloodline again
Since WWE WrestleMania 42, LA Knight has been part of The Bloodline story. Initially, he was paired with The Usos, and they competed in a six-man tag team match at The Showcase of the Immortals.
Following this, The Samoan Twins joined Roman Reigns, re-forming the OG Bloodline. The Megastar was unhappy with their decision and expressed his disappointment multiple times to Jey and Jimmy Uso.
Over the past few weeks, Knight and The Usos were part of multiple segments on Monday Night RAW. During WWE RAW this week, the former United States Champion cut a big promo targeting The Bloodline.
For those unaware, LA Knight is part of the King of the Ring tournament and will soon compete in the first-round match. If he goes on to win, he will get a shot at a world title at SummerSlam. All these developments between Knight and The Bloodline are a sign that he might face Roman Reigns at the PLE.
#2. He is the only right option to win King of the Ring after Seth Rollins
Earlier, fans anticipated that Seth Rollins would win the King of the Ring tournament and lock horns with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2026. The Visionary had already teased coming after the OTC.
However, the Architect failed to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament, thanks to The Vision. Since the former Shield member is now out, LA Knight is the only right option to win the high-profile tournament.
The Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar feud is far from over. The Ruler defeated the Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 42. At Clash in Italy, the Mayor of Suplex City conquered the Nigerian star.
On RAW after Clash in Italy, Oba Femi called out the Beast and confirmed that he was not done yet. With this, there are chances that Brock and Oba may lock horns again at SummerSlam this year. The Beast Incarnate is likely to cost The Ruler his King of the Ring semifinal match against Dominik Mysterio.
Besides Rollins and Oba, there were no great options to win KOTR this year. But now that Rollins has been knocked, Knight has suddenly come into the spotlight, especially due to his targeting The Bloodline. This is a sign that Knight is on his way to emerge as the King of the Ring 2026 winner and will eventually face the OTC at SummerSlam 2026.
#1. Heated history with Roman Reigns in WWE
LA Knight and Roman Reigns already have a heated history in WWE. The Megastar competed with the OG Bloodline leader at Crown Jewel 2023, where he failed to defeat the OTC.
A rematch between them will give Knight a chance to seek redemption for his previous loss and finally beat the Original Tribal Chief. The backstory between Roman and the 43-year-old star is another sign that WWE might opt for the beloved star as Reigns’ opponent at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
It will be interesting to see how the storyline unfolds in the forthcoming weeks. If Knight advances to the semifinals of the tournament, he will likely win the whole thing.
